Thank you for trying to keep me safe,

Kinja'd!!!

but you’re better this way.

Kinja'd!!!

Time to go have some fun in the rain. On a side note, I think I understand why a lot of these cars don’t let the driver disable stability control anymore. An automatic deciding to downshift mid corner causes some serious clenching without the nannies playing along.

I gotta admit, not having traction control is tons of fun, but I do love it when I’m just driving around staying out of trouble. Also, V6 or V8?

V6 :(

But it’s wet out and I’m on rental spec tires, so that tends to narrow the gap a bit. The car does allow for the user to disable traction control, in fact nearly every car does for moving about in the snow (hell even the rental Prius I got once could disable traction control), stability control is a different matter, not many cars let you turn it all the way off.

The V6 still has way more than enough power.

Also, my BMW from 1995 has a stability control off button.

Not my car, but it’s the button directly to the right of the shifter. Labeled ‘ASC’. It is the only way to rip burnouts in the thing.

Also, I’m amazed you got the Prius into maintainence mode. We tried that with my buddy’s mom’s V6 Camry (holy hell that thing was actually quick, even with TC on) and it didn’t work.

The Prius in maintenance mode was “fun” little bit off bleach under the tires and I’m pretty sure I showed quite a few people their first Prius smokey burn out.

And thankfully both my FR-S and E39 (called "DSC" on my generation) also have physical buttons to remove stability control.
